20 August 2025 | Event | By: Tatiana Ramoon

The Department of Labour & Pensions (DLP) is pleased to announce a special half-day training seminar on the Labour Act (2021 Revision), taking place on 24 September 2025. This seminar is designed exclusively for young Caymanians who are new to the workforce or preparing to enter it.

The aim is to empower young Caymanians to step confidently into the workplace, knowing their rights and obligations. The session will take place on Wednesday, 24 September 2025 at the Intergenerational Hub from 9:00am to 1:00pm. Participants will gain a clear understanding of the Labour Act (2021 Revision), with easy-to-follow explanations on:

  • Employee rights and employer responsibilities
  • Entitlements under the law
  • Workplace procedures and best practices

DLP Director Bennard Ebanks said, “We recognise that starting a new job or preparing to enter the workforce can feel overwhelming. Our goal with this seminar is to give young Caymanians the knowledge and confidence they need to succeed. By helping them gain a better understanding of the Labour Act, we aim to promote fair, respectful, and productive workplaces for everyone.”
